BOOKS ON MY SHELF

Diane Gaudynski is an incredible machine quilter and she is a wonderful author.  I have two of her books - Guide to Machine Quilting and Gaudynski's Machine Quilting Guidebook.  I have read and re-read both.  I often page through the books to just admire her quilting.

Harriet Hargrave Heirloom Machine Quilting is a 'must-have' for every quilter.  I have both the 3rd and 4th Editions.  Great information and generous pictures.  I refer to these books frequently.

Infinite Feathers by Anita Shackelford is the book that got me going quilting feathers.  I purchased the Infinite Feathers Quilting Design Template and followed Anita's easy-to-follow directions.  Fun!!

Exploring Machine Trapunto by Hari Walner offers a comprehensive how-to for machine trapunto.  The book is full of ideas, patterns and beautiful photographs.

Radiant New York Beauties by Valori Wells will get you going paper-piecing New York Beauties.  I purchased this book at a class and made one wall hanging from the book.  See my New York Beauty in my gallery.

Color Magic for Quilters by Ann Seely and Joyce Stewart share their method for choosing colors and fabrics.  The book also includes several fun projects.  My copy of this book is falling apart because I go back to this book often for color and project ideas.

GREAT TOOLS FOR QUILTING

Electric Quilt

I highly recommend the Electric Quilt software program.  I have been using EQ5 for years; most of the quilts and all the wallhanging on this site have been designed with EQ5.  The Electric Quilt website offers great online turorials,  free fabric downloads and patterns created by other quilters using Electric Quilt. You can also purchase several easy to follow books that provide instruction for creating blocks, understanding color theory and mastering quilt design.  You can learn more about this product at their website
